This sub-project aims at enhancing access to justice among adolescent girls and young women by strengthening response mechanisms, linkages and collaborations between formal and informal justice systems in the targeted districts of Tororo, Butaleja, and Busia in Uganda. The sub-project will specifically work toward enhancing and addressing gaps in awareness, reporting, case management, legal aid, and linkage to related services required by sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) survivors among adolescents’ girls and young women in the target districts. The Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) Alliance will work to identify SGBV Community Response Agents (peers to SGBV survivors and stakeholders who are identified ass first point of contact for SGBV response) and equip them with knowledge and skills in responding to SGBV cases. In cooperation with local government and technical leaders, SRHR Alliance will also provide support to and participate in SGBV response initiatives and will work with women/girl-led organizations and young women leaders to build their capacity to support and champion access to justice.
