This sub-project aims to contribute to the prevention of gender-based violence (GBV) by promoting and fostering respect for women’s rights within communities of the Dosso region in Niger. In order to raise awareness of GBV and its remedial mechanisms among sub-project beneficiaries, SOS Femmes et Enfants Victimes de Violences Familiales (SOS FEVVF) is sensitizing the population through a series of community dialogues focused on GBV and women’s rights; the establishment of five (5) Committees for GBV prevention and case management of trained community members;  the delivery of five (5) information and awareness-raising sessions on GBV and cyber-violence in local schools; and the organization of a Conference on women’s access to justice and the remedies to GBV with local leaders and youth. Furthermore, the implementing partner is strengthening the capacity of judicial actors to assist GBV victims and survivors through two (2) three (3)-day training sessions for judicial police officers and front-line justice actors working in the fight against GBV and of five (5) mobile campaigns facilitating meetings between GBV survivors and criminal chain actors.
