This sub-project aims to strengthen the institutional capacity of Nepal to address emerging health challenges through law by reducing the existing gap in interdisciplinary education at the university level in Nepal in the area of health law and prevention of non-communicable diseases (NCDs). In collaboration with the Kathmandu School of Law (KSL) and other national academic institutions, the Infinity Foundation is establishing an interdisciplinary academic working group composed of law, nutrition and public health academics, and developing and disseminating context-specific teaching tools on law and NCDs to enhance academic engagement and policy dialogue. The implementing partner is also collaborating with KSL to conduct a series of workshops for university students to address NCDs through legal approaches, with a focus on the promotion of healthy diets and physical activity. The Infinity Foundation is also developing and delivering capacity development activities to selected academics on the intersection of law and NCDs. Finally, the implementing partner is supporting the development, validation and dissemination of research findings on legal approaches to NCD prevention within the academic community.
