Since opening its office in Chisinau in 2018, IDLO has been a committed partner in Moldova’s efforts to build a more transparent, efficient, and resilient justice system.

In close collaboration with Moldovan institutions, IDLO supports key reforms to combat corruption, improve public sector transparency, and advance the country’s European Union accession aspirations.

Its work includes strengthening the country’s legal infrastructure and professionals through innovative digital tools, empowering independent anti-corruption bodies, and promoting alternative dispute resolution mechanisms.

These efforts are designed to build public trust, ease the burden on courts, and ensure a fairer, more accessible justice system for all Moldovans.

MOLDOVA: AI4JUSTICE / Face Your Future

This sub-project aims to enhance public trust, integrity awareness, and civic engagement in Moldova through innovative, AI-driven experiential learning and cross-professional collaboration. In order to improve the understanding of the personal and social consequences of corruption among youth and citizens, the Association of Administrative Lawyers of Moldova (AJAM) is developing a “Personality & Integrity Mirror” (the Mirror), an AI-powered interactive civic-tech installation that will analyse facial features and generate personality-based simulations to guide through ethical dilemmas.

Key Initiatives

  • A small lower-middle income economy, Moldova has made significant progress in reducing poverty and promoting inclusive growth since the early 2000s. While European integration has anchored the Government’s policy reform agenda, many reforms have yet to materialize and economic challenges remain.
