Venue
The Conference will take place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy, which is located north-west of the city center in Piazzale della Farnesina, 1.

From / to Airport:

Taxis
The public white taxis are the official taxi service in Rome. Taxi stands can be found at the airports and in the city main squares. Taxis can also be called booked via phone by dialing one of the numbers below or via Apps available for Android and iPhone (my Taxi, It Taxi):

The authorities have set a fixed fare between Rome's two airports and destinations in Rome city center defined as within the “Aurelian Walls”:
Fiumicino Airport to Rome city center within the “Aurelian Walls” = 48.00 euro
Ciampino Airport to Rome city center withinthe "Aurelian Walls" = 30.00 euro
Public transportation in Rome
The Rome bus and subway services use the same ticketing system. Bus and subway tickets must be purchased in advance from major bust stops, ticket machines available at all subway stations, or tobacco shops, newsstands and bars.

Visa requirements
It is the responsibility of participants to obtain a visa to enter Italy (part of the European Union’s Schengen Area). Participants requiring an entry visa to Italy must obtain it from the Italian Consulate, Embassy or Diplomatic Mission responsible for the necessary arrangements in the participant’s country of residence. Participants should note that the visa application process can take some time and are strongly encouraged to make the necessary arrangements at the earliest opportunity.
Insurance
Participants are required to make their own medical and travel insurance arrangements.
Accommodation
All participants are expected to make their own accommodation arrangements. May is a busy tourist season in Rome and advance booking is strongly recommended. A list of suggested hotels can be accessed here.
Entrance and Registration
Only participants registered for the conference will be given access to the venue. Participants will enter the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation through the main entrance and will be directed to the registration desk. Registration will take place on 27 May from 8:30 to 9:30 am. The registration desk will remain open for late arrivals.
Security
Special security measures are in place at the Ministry. Kindly ensure you bring and are able to present an official and up-to-date photo identification to receive your conference pass. Participants will be required to go through security screening. All participants are requested to clearly display their conference pass at all times during their presence at the Ministry. Please note that only carry-on luggage (equivalent to those used on airplanes - max. 55 x 40 x 23 cm), will be permitted inside the Ministry. Conference participants are advised not to leave any valuable items unattended in the conference rooms.
Parking
Participants are also advised that it is not permitted to park in the area in front of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Limited parking is available in the areas around the Ministry. In order to access the VIP entrance of the Ministry, the models and number plates of any vehicles accompanying Ambassadors or other high-level government representatives to the Conference must be provided to the Ministry well in advance. Details should be sent to sdg16conference@idlo.int as soon as possible and no later than COB on Wednesday, May 22.
Luggage
For security reasons, participants at the Conference are advised that it is not permitted to bring luggage inside the Ministry. Luggage should be left at hotels or alternative arrangements made.
Cloakroom
A cloakroom is available on the first floor of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, close to the International Conference Hall.
Languages
On Monday 27 and Tuesday 28, simultaneous interpretation will be provided in English, French and Spanish for the plenary sessions and in English and French for the parallel sessions. No interpretation will be available for side events, which will normally be conducted in English by the lead organizers.
On Wednesday 29, simultaneous interpretation in English, French and Spanish will be provided for the plenary sessions.
No interpretation will be available for the working groups.
Catering
Coffee, tea, water and lunch-(buffet) will be provided for all participants on all three days of the conference.
Internet | WIFI
WIFI will be available during the conference and login details will be made available at the venue.
