Background
The TAP Network and IDLO will host a pre-conference civil society day on Sunday 26 May, for all civil society stakeholders attending the SDG 16 Conference. It is envisaged that this civil society day will culminate in the "Rome Civil Society Declaration on SDG16+", which will serve as an important input into the outcomes from the SDG 16 Conference. The key messages form the declaration will be presented during a dedicated slot in the plenary on day 2 of the Conference.
This Declaration will also be important for mobilizing civil society advocacy around the 2019 High-level Political Forum in July, as well as the SDGs Summit in September.
Provide your input in advance: In an attempt to coalesce around some key messages to include in Rome Civil Society Declaration on SDG16+, civil society partners facilitating the drafting process are currently seeking inputs to include in its content prior to May 26. This request for early input extends to civil society colleagues that are unable to attend the Conference to also ensure their contribution to the Declaration.
